The ‘Gateway for Business’ centre opened its’ doors to companies in Barking, Dagenham and Havering on the 1st of April, 2006. Funded by the London Development Agency and European Regional Development Fund the centre is offering a ‘one-stop-shop’ with free advice and support to small and medium sized businesses in the manufacturing, technology, engineering, construction and logistics industries in the London Borough’s of Havering and Barking & Dagenham.
The centre is able to support businesses with any issues affecting company performance. Areas of intensive support can include: Strategy & Business planning, Operations, Human Resources, Sales & Marketing, Finance & Funding, Legal, Property and Product Development. Gateway for Business offers four full time specialist advisers who are trained to help improve business performance and practices. Alongside the advisors, the centre holds a large library of information and literature that covers every aspect of running and improving a business.
In addition to the ‘in-house’ support offered by the centre, Gateway for Business also provides access to a network of external agencies providing free support and advice to local businesses.
The centre is situated at the Centre for Engineering Manufacturing Excellence (CEME) Campus in Rainham. The location provides Gateway for Business clients with access to high quality meeting and conferencing facilities, affordable office space and an available pool of highly skilled labour via the courses offered at CEME.
